Something that strikes me is that in our little forum here, there is a direction and quality of attention that is somewhat consistent in direction but widely different in manifestation, it's nice

A strange thing happened today, along these lines.  Along the lines of knowing the Secret in Plain Sight.

I called a minister at the Baptist church in Ohio, in the most impoverished part of town.  Everyone is losing their jobs in the pottery mills, those that are still standing.  It is appalachia through and through.  I figured they're in big trouble right now - I used to attend the church to support it and the predominately poor and black congregation.  So I made a donation to them, and wanted to find out what the conditions were at this time.  I'll keep sending as long as the crisis lasts.

The minister, Ernest, was a little surprised - as I haven't lived back there in a couple years.  But I don't donate to anything regularly, so I figured I might as well.

He was profusely thanking me, which I didn't need or want.  At some point, I stopped him and some incredible words came out of my mouth, and they weren't meant to be funny or sarcastic:

"Ernest, I'm an angel".

The moment I said those words I realized they were true.  They weren't egoic words.  They were words of Knowing.

I so deeply appreciate that story.  Deep resonant wisdom.

Thanks for sharing and bringing it to mind again.

I love it when the truth just refuses to stay hidden.

It's such a subtle change.  It's the difference between Wearing it and Being it.

For some reason, I never liked the concept of angels at all.  I always thought it was childish or silly, part of the whole folklore of the religion.  But when I was talking to the minister, the word just came out of my mouth, and I knew that I was.  What I am.  What we all are here, just to realize it.  It's not an attainment, it's a merging of our human frequency to that of the divine intelligence  - or whatever placeholder you want to put there - more like an alignment that seems to have happened on its own.  Honestly, it's just happened within the past week.  Anyone else notice some changes?

@manitou I've noticed really strong pushes towards certain actions in my life. It feels like the world is smiling down at me and pushing me onward, like a parent gesturing a child to crawl towards them. In a way, it feels like for once I can feel which way my soul wants me to go.

Well said.  Certain processes in life have great inertia.  For me, I experience it as a pull.  A subtle, or obvious compulsive draw toward an event, item, person, place, activity...  it's like a gravity well that, if I don't consciously resist, inexorably draws me, and when i acquiesce to it, the actions that arise as a result are effortless, naturally supported by the flow.

It's a yin based draw.  Almost like my awareness can feel there's a space that my presence will fill (nature abhors a vacuum).  Like being drawn along behind a wave.  Or the way I taught my infant son to swim.  Set him in afloat front of me, then I moved backward allowing the drag of the water to naturally bolster his desire to move toward me... as i moved back the draw of my presence and the action of the drag in the water, drew him on and without even realizing he was learning to swim... he was swimming.

That is how I've come to interpret how wei wu wei can at times encompass not passivity... but great action.  when I don't resist the draw to action that arises naturally.

Wei Wu Wei.  I'd always heard it interpreted as 'doing without doing', which has never worked for my sticky skeptic mind.  For me, wei wu wei is 'Acting Without Forced Action'.  When drawn naturally, action arises of itself, tzujan, ziran and is supported by the flow of all conditions surrounding it and thus seems quite effortless, unstrained and bouyant.

Wei Wu Wei is effortless, unstrained and buoyant, as I see it too.  And yes, it does seem to be a Yin draw.  But I think it goes beyond just letting stuff happen unforced.  I think you can expect a desired result at the onset of the 'inaction'.  I've found this to be true.  The dynamics of the wu wei action are very subtle, and it's my experience that you have to get up into the perceptive ethers to see it in action.  Because the non-action does cause actions in others.  We are no longer a person with a predictable response, we don't buy into the chaos.  We are the calm one in the chaos.  We are the mirror for the other folks involved in the chaos.  They will bounce off our 'inaction' and look for a different avenue.  That is usually a box canyon.  It's at this point, after groping around in the box canyon, that the individual will return to their senses and become receptive to a different way.  A kinder way, a more gentle way.

Sometimes just being a receiver and not engaging in the emotion is all it takes.
